Mr. Rainey joined Navaid Lighting Associates, Inc. in July 2001 to assist in the service work being provided to airports and design firms. As Vice-President of Airfield Systems Development, Mr. Rainey has helped Navaid Lighting Associates, Inc. provide consulting services to electrical design teams on a number of projects. These projects involve construction and re-construction of runway and taxiway lighting systems including new airfield electrical vault construction. Additionally included in these projects is the installation and upgrade of SMGCS and distributed control systems. This work involves field investigations of existing equipment, review of plans and specs for constructability, coordination for re-use and re-location of existing equipment to new vaults with minimal loss of service as well as re-use of existing electrical systems for additions to SMGCS.
Mr. Rainey has experience in the use of field photometric testing for verification of compliance with FAA and ICAO standards both for new installation acceptance testing and as a tool for preventive maintenance of airfield lighting systems.
Mr. Rainey's extensive background helped Navaid Lighting Associates, Inc. to establish a maintenance training program for airfield electricians. This training program provides airfield electricians, electrical contractors, and engineers with an overall knowledge of airport lighting system design and maintenance.
